ex lovers

Yesterday night I was having trouble sleeping; that static thing from the other day you see. So, to keep my mind a little occupied I started composing haiku about ex lovers.

I can't claim the idea as my own. Several years ago, a group of people I'm acquainted with did the same on LiveJournal. I wasn't a participant then, but I always thought it would be a fun thing to try.

I posted a few of these on Facebook last night, and a few more this afternoon. Others will be new.

Heart of song and love
I wish you'd see what I see
You left me wishing

Late night Manayunk
The things you got me to do
Shame it was just sex

A strong hand taken
An unattached dalliance
Ravaged; I miss it

Young man with sad eyes
We had a fun filled summer
There *are* homeless here

Before the cocaine
Before I hated our lives
There was tenderness

Spoiled little boy
Following your parents' lead
God, I miss their house

I fell hard too soon
I cannot help but wonder
Were they all just lies

Too much on your plate
Boy with the dimpled smile.
There's no room for me.

Ghost hunting, really?
Sometimes I wanted to laugh
At very wrong times.
